About

I work in financial management advisory. I have worked as an auditor and as a financial controller. Today I carry out my advisory work through Prime Numeris.

Each step showed me a different side of finance. When I look at a company’s financial question today, I try to see all of those sides at once.

Seeing every side of finance at the same table

Audit teaches you to ask for the evidence behind a number. It is not enough to say an amount is right; you need to know how it was produced, which process it went through and what supports it.

Corporate financial control shows the other side: the numbers an auditor examines from outside are produced inside, under time pressure, system constraints and human judgement. When the process is poorly designed, even the most careful control comes too late.

Financial reporting connects these two views through a common language. In Turkey, tax touches almost every sentence of that language: it shapes how records are kept, how decisions affect cash, and what risks a company carries.

In my advisory work I try not to separate these four perspectives. The root of a cash squeeze may lie in the tax calendar, the root of a reporting problem in a process, and the root of a budget variance in its assumptions. Good financial judgement starts with seeing which layer the problem sits in.

Approach

  1. 01

    Clarity

Expressing a complex financial situation simply enough for the person who must decide. Simplicity is not discarding detail; it is bringing forward what matters.

  2. 02

    Evidence

Grounding a judgement in the data and documents that support it. Writing assumptions down and making them testable.

  3. 03

    Systems

Building structures that deliver the same quality every period, rather than one-off analyses. A good model should work without its author in the room.

  4. 04

    Decision usefulness

Measuring a report or analysis by what it adds to management’s decision. Information that does not inform a decision is noise.

  5. 05

    Professional scepticism

Before accepting what the numbers say, asking what they do not say. Consistency is not proof of accuracy.

  6. 06

    Financial discipline

Monitoring cash, risk and commitments regularly, consistently and on time. Discipline makes problems visible before they grow.
